Version History 50

- Added a new setting "Move to active space" which may possibly fix an issue where the floating window appears on multiple screens.
- One-click support: Since the beginning 4 years ago, my goal has been to make this app as easy to use as possible. That's why, this update adds a new ease of use feature where if you have a browser open with lets say a YouTube video playing, simply right click the menubar icon, and the app will automatically open the front most browser's tab's content in Floating. All it takes is a right click.
- Fixed a bug where the welcome message was too long and was going off screen on smaller screen devices. Made the message shorter.
- Fixed a bug where sometimes, dragging and dropping was silently failing randomly. It had to do with incorrect math about the dragging point intersecting the frame of the app icon. I fixed it with proper math. Thanks to Ted for the bug report.

Description:

Floating is a very simple yet useful app which lets you pin/stick/float as many images on top of all windows. This is similar to the Picture in Picture videos except this is for images on your Mac. The idea for this app was heavily inspired by this Reddit post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AppIdeas/comments/g1usmh/screen_select_tool_floating_and_adjustable_in_size/

Simple steps:

Either drag images into the menu bar icon or use the shortcut method:

1. Copy as many images or online image links to your clipboard. Alternatively you can take a screenshot or portion screenshot and put it in your clipboard using Control + Shift + Command + 4.

2. Use the shortcut: Control + Shift + Command + 0
to float the images from clipboard always on top of all windows.

You can scroll up or down on the floating windows to change transparency. Windows can be resized too and they maintain the image's aspect ratio.

-----------------------------

Btw, if you aren't aware of MacOS shortcuts for screenshots, there are multiple ways to take them depending upon your workflow:

1. To take a screenshot of the full screen, press and hold these three keys together: Shift, Command and 3

2. To take a screenshot of a portion of the screen by selecting the area, press and hold these three keys together: Shift, Command and 4

3. To capture a window or menu, open the window or menu that you want to capture. Press and hold these keys together: Shift, Command, 4 and Space bar. The pointer changes to a camera icon

4. In any of the above methods, instead of saving the screenshot, if you want to copy the screenshot directly to the Clipboard, press and hold the Control key while you take the screenshot with the above steps.

I use Control + Shift + Command + 4 often in my workflow.
